While seeking ideas for current project I am working on, which is designing green in the office, I found those adorable photos.

If you want to do it, start it 2-3 months before you'd like to get the flowers.

I look and admire the creativity of its creators. Parts that usually go

This unknown apple tree variety somebody have planted before World War II and since then it bears beautiful fruits. This means it's at least 70 years old - or even might be older. Nobody remembers people who possibly have got this great idea to plant it.  

You see... People are gone, but apple tree is still feeding us...

I always liked jute for its natural and somewhat rough look. Recently on one of the coffee grain sacks I am recycling I've read "Save Amazon, use jute", so I got curious and searched why is it so.

Beside aestetical and pracitcal values, jute plants is very efficent in carbon dioxide (CO2) assimilation and it clean
the air by consuming large quantities of CO2.

... my cherry tree, beside flowering beautifully and fruiting has one more lovely habit - its leaves are turning in reach yellow color in the autumn... you see here view from one of the windows... let's go outside and see how does it look...

What I find
most challenging in growing vegetables in pots? 


** First - watering and fertilizing **

Soil in pots dries up so quickly,
much faster than in other places in the garden. 

If I think
seriously about growing vegetables in pots, I would invest in self- watering
containers or self-watering kit. Unless you have time to water it in the summer
even 2 x a day here in my zone 6B.

Basil
growing in the windowsill outgrew my expectations. She gave me huge bunch and solid portion of leaves to make an Italian pesto.  

I trimmed my
basil ruthlessly, leaving only 10 cm of wooden stems. It cried for 48 hours – I got

Hostas look like they were born there. This is the place they belong ant fit perfectly. Re-designed and planted 12 months ago.  




This cascading waterfall located in my Krystyna garden in Serock (near Warsaw in Poland) is loved by fish and frogs. We watch birds coming in the morning to take bath or shower, then drying wet feathers in the sun.

Yellowish shade comes from weird yellow light we've got over Serock on the day before stormy weather at night.


















Blish light comes from lit cascade.


Here the light was even pinkish-blue! What an evening is was!

Hydrangea arborescens Annabelle liked my last year very light pruning. I made it in August, when there was time for deadheading. No pruning in the Spring - only emergency removal of frost damages. This is only 1 plant - look how large it grew! Planted 6 years ago.

Recently I am a little too busy to spend enough time in the garden, which in this season is not really something I’d love to say. Last year I've planted strawberries in this barrel, but really they were not happy! This spot turned out to be too sunny and too hot for alpine strawberries. One month ago strawberries were replanted to more shady location. Barrel got new guest, which is Sedum spectabile Autumn joy - beautiful for most of the year and drought tolerant. I will not have to water it very often.

October welcomed us with freeze slap, so not many flowers survived. Asters - the most reliable autumn flowers in our zone 6 is one of 4 flowers I could find in my garden.
